Geater Machining and Manufacturing, Co launches implementation of the Supplier Excellence Alliance Lean Enterprise System

Irvine, California – January 30, 2008 – Geater Machining and Manufacturing, Co. (GMM), located in Independence, IA, is launching the implementation of the Supplier Excellence Alliance (SEA) Lean Enterprise System.

SEA is the non-profit alliance of aerospace and defense prime and tier-one contractors and leading sub-tier suppliers organized to transform the global supply chain. Prime-empowered and supplier-led, SEA helps improve the performance of small and mid-sized production suppliers.

The Lean Enterprise System (LES) is the industry standard continuous improvement system. The LES helps suppliers build new capabilities that enable them to better support the emerging needs of their customers. It helps establish a culture where lean production principles and standard work are applied throughout a supplier organization to ensure sustained improvements in delivery and quality, while reducing lead times and cost.

Geater Machining and Manufacturing, Co. is a custom precision sheet metal fabricator and machining company founded in 1962 specializing in the production of electronic controls, small assembly and sheet metal work. The GMM’s 48,000 square foot facility employs over 130 people.
